I don’t have a domain but I want to access my sites by temporary links. How can I do it? Print

First of all, we recommend that you register domain names and use the temporary links only for testing purposes. The domain names can be added to cPanel by clicking on “Addon Domains” button.

If you use our shared hosting packages or there is WHM&cPanel installed on your VPS / dedicated server, you can access the main website of cPanel account by http://ip.ip.ip.ip/~username, where ip.ip.ip.ip is an IP address of the server your account is located at and username is your cPanel username.

If you want to add more websites that can be accessed by temporary URLs to your cPanel account you need to take the following steps:

1. Create a directory for your new site (e.g. "newdirectory") in /public_html and upload the site content to it.
2. Create .htaccess file with the following directives:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /~username/newdirectory/

where "username" is your cPanel username and "newdirectory" is the name of the directory created on the step 1.

3. Access the website by http://ip.ip.ip.ip/~username/newdirectory/.
