Step 1. Main server IP address change
To change the main IP address of your VPS server you need to log into SolusVM control panel, go to the Network Tab of VPS Controls Frame and click Set as Main IP Address button to the left of the new IP address.
Step 2. Control Panel IP address update
To change the IP address for WHM/cPanel you need to follow next steps:
- Connect to your VPS server using SSH (e.g. PuTTY)
- Update license:
# /usr/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt - Log in WHM panel: https://new_server_ip:2087
- Go to Home >> Main >> Server Configuration >> Basic cPanel & WHM Setup menu and click All Tab
- In the field The IP address (only one address) that will be used for setting up shared IP virtual hosts of Basic Config Section enter the new IP address and click Save Changes button
- Go to Home >> Main >> Account Functions >> Change Site's IP Address to change the IP address for the sites added for the user
- Choose User from the list and click Change
- Choose the new IP address in the drop-down menu and click Change
NOTE: The procedure should be repeated for every newly created user. To speed up the search, you can use the Account Search function to search users by Domain or by User Name.
Step 3. DNS server IP address update
To change the IP address used by DNS server for the private name servers (NS) follow the next steps:
- Go to Home >> Main >> Server Configuration >> Basic cPanel & WHM Setup menu and click All Tab
- Change the IP address in the Nameservers section and save changes
Step 4. A-records update
To update A-records for the existing zones in DNS of WHM/ cPanel you need to follow the next steps:
- Go to Home >> Main >> DNS Functions >> Edit DNS Zone menu
- Choose Domain and click Edit button at the bottom of the page
- Update A-record with the new IP address
NOTE: The procedure should be repeated for all added Domains.
