In case of purchase of the CDP backup services, you can activate and configure the backup of your VPS in such a way that the back up of the entire VPS will be saved on a third-party backup server.
To activate and configure it, you should follow the instructions below:
I. Installation of the Backup Agent on your VPS.
1. Create r1soft.repo file with the R1Soft repository information:
nano -w /etc/yum.repos.d/r1soft.repo
2. Input the text mentioned below and save this file:
[r1soft]
name=R1Soft Repository Server
baseurl=http://repo.r1soft.com/yum/stable/$basearch/
enabled=1
gpgcheck=0
Check the file content:
cat /etc/yum.repos.d/r1soft.repo
3. Then install the Backup Agent with the following command:
yum install serverbackup-agent
To run the command - press Y + Enter.
4. Update the kernel and reboot the VPS:
yum update kernel && yum install kernel-devel && reboot
To run the command - press Y + Enter.
5. Set up R1Soft module:
r1soft-setup --get-module
6. Restart the Backup Agent:
/etc/init.d/cdp-agent restart
II. Addition of the verification external backup storage key.
To work with the external backup storage, you must set up the verification key on your VPS. The host name of the backup server can be found in the email “Your CDP Backups service is ready!”:
Run the command:
serverbackup-setup --get-key https://server%name
Server%name can be found in the email “Your CDP Backups service is ready!”
It should look like: serverbackup-setup --get-key https://eustor02.twinservers.net
III. Activation of the backup of your VPS.
To activate the backup of your server you need go to your Client Area and specify your VPS in the CDP Backups service settings.
